Endermologie FAQs
Endermologie® FAQs
What kind of people chose Endermologie®?
• Those who feel that it’s too early or too late to consider more aggressive beauty techniques
• Those who want to naturally boost their potential for slimming
• Those who want to look younger with long lasting effect
• Those seeking ‘wellness and relaxation’
• Those who understand that, like muscles, skin and body tissues need exercise, a balance diet, and proper care products
• Those who recognize that exercise and diets are not always enough to get rid of stubborn fat and unsightly dimpling.
• Those who want to rediscover the face they love, not some fixed-expression, recreated face (like someone overly Botoxed or Face Lifted!)
Overall, it is someone who wants high-tech, reliable, non-invasive treatments along with a healthy, natural and responsible beauty regimen.
How long does a session last?
A session lasts for about 20-50 minutes depending on the size and number of areas being treated. An extra 10-15 minutes per appointment is allotted to allow for changing, prepping and weighing time if needed. Longer treatments are available by special request, for an additional cost.
What is the first appointment like?
The initial evaluation and treatment is 75-90 minutes. At a consultation with a certified Endermologist, you will discuss your health and how Endermologie® can help. Photographs and measurements will be taken to accurately track your progress. A thong style undergarment is recommended for photos and a bra may also be worn. Photographs and measurements are also taken halfway through the treatment program and again at completion to monitor the changes in appearance. 15-20 minutes will be added to bookings on days where pictures/measurements will be taken. Your privacy is always respected and faces are not displayed in the pictures, which are printed in house and kept on site. Ongoing photos and evaluations are complementary.
Do you just work on my problem areas?
With Lipomassage, the main focus of the treatment is directed at a specific problem area, but with Endermologie®, the entire body is treated in order to not only target multiple areas, but to stimulate general circulation and elimination of broken up toxic matter through lymphatic drainage.
How many sessions do I need to start seeing results?
Results vary for every person, however an average person starts to have noticeable changes after about 6-10 sessions. Most clients find the treatment itself produces immediate relaxation and a pleasant feeling of wellbeing afterward. Treatment results are also dependant upon the client's commitment to water intake, healthy diet and exercise as well as body morphology. It is recommended to lower your sodium, sugar, carbohydrate and alcohol intake while receiving treatments for the best health and results. The more dehydrated your body is the more water it will retain, so stay hydrated!
How many treatments should I consider to begin with?
A series of 15-20 sessions would be a good start to achieve results. Initially, treatments should be received twice a week until the desired look is achieved. After the desired look is achieved, once per week sessions can be undertaken for continued enhancement or once per month maintenance treatments can also be obtained to promote overall wellness. The Endermologist will recommend a frequency of sessions based on you specific needs and goals.
How long should I continue my treatments?
We suggest that you approach Endermologie® treatments as a lifestyle change. Just as we go to have our hair cut on an ongoing basis, or see a massage therapist regularly to ease tension, Endermologie® is a tool which, when used regularly, promotes optimum health. With a maintained healthy lifestyle, the results of an Endermologie regimen can last for long periods of time, but most clients chose to have a monthly Endermologie® treatment to ensure results are maintained and because they feel better overall when they are treated regularly.
Does the procedure hurt?
With your highly trained Endermologist, and the machine’s capability of changing intensity, you won’t be in pain. It is a non-invasive, relaxing treatment that involves no lasers, needles or use of any chemical substances, creams or gels. Some fibrosed tissues or stubborn cellulite may lead to slight discomfort, but it should never cause pain; client and therapist communication is key to optimal results and comfort. Many people actually find Endermologie® so relaxing that they drift to sleep during the treatment.
What do I wear during treatments?
We will provide you with a body stocking, Endermowear, to wear during all of your sessions. The stocking is worn for modesty and hygiene; it also helps the device to grip the skin properly for consistent movements. You may also wear a thong type undergarment under Endermowear. Endermowear is only needed for body Endermologie® and Lipomassage treatments, therefore is not needed for face treatments.
Does the treatment have any side effects?
There are very few, mild side effect possible, similar to those possible for massage therapy such as minor bruising for individuals with very sensitive skin or light-headedness, headaches or nausea in clients who are dehydrated or who have low blood pressure. Always remember to drink between 2 and 4 liters of water each day. There are, however, numerous positive side effects, such as relieved muscle tension, fading of stretch marks and scar tissue along with feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.
If I start an Endermologie® program, must I exercise and follow a special diet? Is it a weight loss program?
To be in good health, we should all exercise and eat moderate, natural, well-balanced meals. If you engage in regular physical activity and have a healthy diet, Endermologie® will complement this by fighting trapped fat, reshaping your body and smoothing away cellulite. Ideal candidates are within 20 lbs of their goal weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, by combining Endermologie® with a diet and exercise program, you can have a greater chance of achieving your weight loss and fitness goals and streamline your body by targeting resistant areas that diet and exercise alone can not improve. If you lead a healthy lifestyle, as a result of Endermologie® treatments, you’ll notice your clothes fitting better, you will have less cellulite, and also, you’ll lose some inches in circumferential body measurements. Also, by combining Endermologie® with a sensible weight loss program, you can achieve amazing results and improve your health. Those who are obese and undergoing weight loss surgery or a strict weight loss plan can use Endermologie® throughout the entire process in order to enhance results, and help keep skin/tissues healthy; this would greatly reduce the chance of getting excess skin / sagging after the weight loss (as excess skin removal surgery after significant weight loss can cost from $10000- $15000 and also has the risk of numerous complications).
Do I need to do anything to get good results?
Yes. Clients are advised to drink a sufficient amount of water (at least 2 Liters per day). Also, at least 2.5 hours of exercise over the course of each week is advised as to help eliminate fatty acids and toxins released during treatment. Eating clean is also recommended for best results (avoid junk and eat as naturally as possible). Keep sugars, processed carbohydrates and alcohol to a minimum. You will receive information during your initial consultation on water, clean eating and exercise needs for optimal results.
Does this treatment work on men also?
Definitely. Even though men are not prone to develop cellulite, they might have loose skin, or some excess fat in certain areas that can be improved by Endermologie®. Clinical experience has shown excellent results for problem areas such as "love handles" and loose/fatty pectoral tissue. It is an excellent skin toner; therefore it is a great choice to treat the skin after weight loss that resulted in loose skin or to prevent loose skin while on a weight loss program.
What is the difference between Endermologie® and Liposuction?
Endermologie® treatments are non-invasive and improve the health of connective tissue. Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure aimed at removing deep fat tissue from a specific area. Doctors often recommend Endermologie® treatments in conjunction with liposuction to minimize the trauma cause by the scaring and inflammation of the procedure and to improve the health of the tissue.
Are the results permanent?
If the factors causing the initial condition are not changed (for example, an unhealthy lifestyle involving fatty, processed foods and little exercise), the tissue will return to the state it was in before Endermologie® after some time. A healthy lifestyle involving regular exercise and a balanced diet are required to maintain results, but clients often chose to undergo an Endermologie® maintenance treatment per month to help keep the results achieved and feel their best.
Is ENDERMOLOGIE® new?
Endermologie® has been utilized since 1986. Over 200,000 treatments are now performed daily in over 110 countries worldwide; however, Endermologie® is relatively new to Canada.
Can everyone receive Endermologie® treatments?

• Pregnancy
• Active Cancer or Growing Tumor
• Anyone taking Blood Thinner Medication
• Skin Conditions
• Infectious Progressive Illness
• Inexplicable Pain
• Extreme skin sensitivity
• Proliferation of Varicose (some are ok as they can be worked around)
